Wages to be given through smart cards

Sangareddy: The Medak District Level Review Committee (DLRC) that met here on Friday has decided to implement payment of wages and pensions through Smart cards from December of this year. The bankers including the State bank of India will start enrolling the account holders from October.

The project which is being implemented in Warangal, Karimnagar, Medak, Mahboobnagar, Chittoor and East Godavari has taken up a pilot project in Warangal. Giving details of the project district Collector B. Venkatesam said that over 5 lakh accounts would have to be opened within one year.
