Mumbai: The Maharashtra Government has announced a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh each to hockey stars Adrian D’Souza, Shivendra Singh and Gurbaj Singh and also to coach Joaquim Carvalho. They are all based in Mumbai and were part of the Indian team that won the Asia Cup in Chennai recently. The State government has also announced a cash award of Rs. 10 lakh to Lalchand Rajput, who was the Indian team’s cricket manager at the ICC Twenty20 event in South Africa. The government had earlier announced a similar award to Mumbai cricketers Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar. — Special Correspondent
