Detained under Essential Commodities Act

NAMAKKAL: Police detained a person under the Essential Commodities Act here on Thursday. Police said a team of officials seized 260 bags of rice meant for supply under the Public Distribution System recently and arrested Selvakumar (40) on charges of smuggling it. He was detained under the Act following an order from Collector G. Sundaramurthi.
