VIJAYAWADA: TDP polit bureau member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Tuesday took a dig at the ruling Congress, saying the Government failed on all fronts except in corruption. Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Ramakrishnudu expressed concern over the total ‘neglect’ of primary education, employment, infrastructure and investment sectors despite the fact that these factors contribute to people’s welfare. “This Government has miserably failed in respect of employment generation. Finance Minister Rosaiah is spreading untruths to cover up for the Government’s utter failure,” he remarked. Tall claimsThe TDP leader recalled that the Congress Government had made tall claims of its political will to create 2.5 lakh jobs, but nothing of that sort had been done to show its commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the young generation. Besides failing to create new jobs, the Congress Government had the “credit” of cancelling the vacancies in agriculture and other sectors. Mr. Ramakrishnudu criticised that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was kind enough to help the ruling party MP find 110 acres in Hyderabad for a real estate project, even as the Government had made it clear that there was no land available for distribution to the poor in urban areas. “The Chief Minister himself said in the Assembly that the Government is not in a position to give land for the poor in towns and cities. How is he finding land for the ruling party MPs and the corporate companies?” the TDP leader asked. TDP urban president Gadde Rammohan, official spokesperson Nannapaneni Rajakumari and others were present.
