Abishek and Swarna clinch titles

CHAMPIONS: The winners of the Tristar Sports Club State-ranking table tennis tournament on Sunday.

CHENNAI: The men’s final between R. Abishek (Indian Bank) and Rajath Kamal (FCI) in the Tristar Sports Club State-ranking table tennis tournament at the Montfort Indoor Stadium here on Sunday saw a much-improved Abishek chop and cut with amazing success to win 4-1.

J. Swarna of SDAT-Chandra Academy attacked relentlessly to record a 4-0 win over Swetha Kumaravel (Indian Bank) in the women’s summit clash.

One of the brightest talents to emerge from the State, Sachin Viswanath (SDAT-AKG) won his 11th successive title in the mini-cadet boys’ title.

Mir Khasim Ali, former National table tennis champion, gave away the prizes.
