Exfiltration bid foiled, six Bangladeshis held

JAMMU: Members of a village defence committee (VCD) foiled an exfiltration bid and took into custody six Bangladesh nationals near the India-Pakistan border in R S Pura sector, official sources said on Thursday.

The VCD members, who were on a routine patrolling of the border village, noticed a group of people trying to cross the International Border near Kaku-da-Kotha area on Wednesday night. They asked the group to stop and chased them when they tried to flee, they said, adding six Bangladeshis were detained by them and later handed over to police. — PTI
