Bangalore: The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has unveiled Internet booking of tickets for the forthcoming ODI between India and Australia, scheduled for September 29. In a press conference at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday, the KSCA president Srikanta Datta Narasimharaja Wadiyar and the secretary Brijesh Patel formally announced the launch of the e-ticketing venture that will be handled by Ticketpro India, a company that specialises in the sale of tickets through computers as well as live counters. It also promises adequate security measures like bar-coding to avoid plagiarism and fraud in the issue of tickets. New featuresMr. Wadiyar spoke about the new initiative and its enhanced features. “Ticketpro besides providing tickets through the Internet and also at the counters here at the stadium, will also help us officials and the KSCA staff to monitor the crowd inflow.” “At any given point we could know the exact number of people inside the stadium through the software on our computers that will be hooked on to the Ticketpro menu. Ticketpro promises faster access to the stands after the tickets are scanned and it also ensures that there is no misuse of tickets. Fans can now log onto www.ticketpro.in or call the toll free number – 18004251115 for their tickets,” Mr. Wadiyar said. Anywhere in the worldMr. Patel spoke about making tickets accessible for those who are petrified of standing in long queues at the counters. “Anyone who has access to a computer anywhere in the world, can book and print these tickets and maybe gift it to their parents or children who are here. It’s like booking air-tickets sitting at home. Off course, an individual can book only two tickets per head.” From Sept. 24“Ticketpro also promises to help us analyse the pattern of customers who buy our tickets and maybe we can use that information when we market our tickets for Test matches, for which the demand for seats is low. A small percentage of the 12000 seats for the public in higher denominations will be made available on the net. The sale of tickets through counters and through the internet, both manned by Ticketpro, will commence on September 24,” Mr. Patel said.
