KATHMANDU: Two more persons died on Thursday in a communal violence in Kapilvastu, a southern district bordering India, taking the total death toll of the week-long violence to at least 20. The deaths occurred when two groups, protesting against the week-long violence, clashed. Police recovered eight more bodies from the district on Thursday. They said the toll could rise since they had not been able to reach many remote villages. The violence erupted on Sunday when gunmen killed a local politician, Mohit Khan. Khan once led a militia group that fought Maoists. Deny involvementBut the Maoists have already denied their involvement in the killing. The police said they were investigating the cause of the violence. The violence seems to be spreading to other districts with clashes reported in neighbouring Dang District where the local administration imposed curfew on Thursday.
