Udhagamandalam: At the 114th annual general meeting of the United Planters Association of Southern India (UPASI) held at Coonoor on Monday C.P. Kariappa of Kambihalli Estate, Chikmagalur, was elected president for 2007-2008. D.P. Maheshwari, senior president of Jay Shree Tea was elected vice-president.
