Congress wants Katta dropped

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: The Bangalore City Youth Congress Committee took out a protest march here on Thursday seeking dismissal of the Minister for Industries Katta Subramanya Naidu following the alleged encroachment of government land by his son Jagadish Naidu and brother-in-law Babu Naidu.

Addressing partymen, BCYCC president S. Manohar said the Joint Legislature Committee, headed by A.T. Ramaswamy, had found that of the 160 acres that had been encroached, 16.35 acres had been done by Mr. Jagadish Naidu and Mr. Babu Naidu at Chikkanagamangala village and Doddanagamangala village of Sarjapur hobli in Anekal taluk.

Following this, Mr. Subramanya Naidu had no moral right to continue in office, he said.

Referring to the reported statement of an official that the name of the Minister’s son was K.S. Jagadish and not Jagadish Naidu and that Mr. Subramanya Naidu did not have a brother-in-law by name Babu Naidu, Mr. Manohar said the official was only attempting to protect the Minister’s interests. The Government should immediately arrest Mr. Jagadish Naidu and Mr. Babu Naidu, he said.
