Big win for St. Philomena’s

Mysore: Helped by some excellent medium-pace bowling by Akshay (five for ten) and good batting by Tousif (88) and Harsha Kumar Naidu (84), St. Philomena’s FGC registered a 196-run win over University Evening College and entered the quarterfinals of the Mysore University Chamundi Zone inter-collegiate cricket tournament played at the Maharaja’s College rounds here on Thursday.

The scores: St. Philomena’s FGC 256 for four in 25 overs (Tousif 88, Harsha Kumar Naidu 84) bt University Evening College, Mysore 60 in 18.5 overs (Akshay five for 10).

Sharadha Vilas Law College 93 in 20.3 overs lost to Maharaja’s College 96 for two in 17.1 overs (Arun Kumar 44 not out).
