Directive on smooth conduct of ceremony

Staff Reporter

KANCHEEPURAM: Collector Pradeep Yadav has called upon the organisers of Vinayaka Chathurthi celebrations in different parts of Kancheepuram district to adhere to rules and guidelines drafted by the Government and ensure smooth conduct of the celebrations on September 15 and the subsequent immersion ceremony.

Urging the organisers to intimate the place where the idols would be immersed after the celebrations, the Collector, in a release, asked the organisers to install Vinayaka idols made out of clay only.

The idols must have a maximum height of 5 feet, the Collector added.
