Siva puts it across Jani

VIJAYAWADA: Vizag’s Siva Kumar defeated Machilipatnam’s Abdul Jani 25-17, 17-19, 25-5 in the first round of the State-ranking carrom tournament at Chilakaluripet (Guntur district) on Friday.

Surendra shines

Surendra Singh’s knock of 86 and Atchuth Kumar’s spell of five for 34 for Prakasam were the highlights on the first day of its match against Krishna in the Central Zone ACA under-19 inter-district cricket tournament here on Friday.

West Godavari 101 in 29.2 overs (B. Sudhakar four for 13, V. Ashok three for 10) and 24 for one vs. Guntur 202 in 38.1 overs (R.P. Anil 54, K. Krishna Teja four for 62, T.S.R. Pradeep three for 58).

Krishna 155 in 45 overs (D. Rishi Choudary 58, Ch. Ramesh 41, Atchuth Kumar five for 34) vs. Prakasam 187 for five in 45 overs (Surendra Singh 86, Vinay 58 batting, B.K. Teja three for 35).

Khaja slams century

Khaja Fariruddin (153) and Imtiyaz (119) helped Anantapur register a mammoth 386 for three in 88 overs against Nellore in the Matrix Labs ACA South Zone under-15 cricket tournament for the A.N. Narasimha Reddy memorial Trophy at Kurnool on Friday.

The scores: Anantapur 386 for three in 88 overs (Khaja Fariruddin 153, Imtiyaz 119, Praneeth 61) vs. Nellore. Chittoor 145 in 58 overs (Tejeswar 42, Ramanjaneyulu four for 19, Preetam three for 61) vs. Kurnool 215 for two in 39 overs (Ch. Vikram Surya Teja 98 batting, P.V. Sharan 41 batting). President’s XI 247 for 7

President’s XI was 247 for seven in 82 overs at the end of the second day’s play in the four-day ACA u-22 selection cricket match at Venkatagiri (Nellore) on Friday.

Earlier, Secretary’s XI was all out for 328.
