Bangalore: Tarun Muthanna bagged seven wickets and helped President’s XI gain a 57-run first innings lead over Bangalore Zone in the KSCA inter-zonal under-19 cricket tournament semifinal that concluded in a draw here on Friday. Trailing President’s XI’s 286, Bangalore Zone scored 229 in 77.4 overs with Suraj Sampath making 116. The 57-run lead helped President’s XI secure a berth in the final. The scores: Semifinals: President’s XI 286 for nine in 82.4 overs drew with Bangalore Zone 229 in 77.4 overs (Suraj Sampath 116, Abhijeet Vashisht 42 not out, Tarun Muthanna seven for 62). Combined City XI 191 in 51.4 overs and 336 for six in 75.2 overs (G. Pradeep 100 not out, K. Goutham 76, G.R. Both matches in the Synergy Sports Super Division hockey tournament ended in 1-1 draws here on Friday. In the first match, Army Green and Central Excise played out a draw with S.P Tirkey (25th) scoring for the Army Green XI and Mandanna (61st) notching up the equaliser.
