CHAMPION STUFF: North Bengal’s Arnab Adhikari, who won the sub-junior boys’ title.
KOCHI: Maharashtra’s Mallika Bhandarkar was quite familiar with her opponent Charvi Kawle’s game. The two are from the same State, and best friends. On Friday, fresh from her under-12 triumph in a world junior tour event in China, the Nagpur-based Mallika took a little over half hour to defeat Charvi in straight games and win the sub-junior girls title in the OSEL National ranking table tennis tournament at the Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium here on Friday evening. North Bengal’s Arnab Adhikari, who packed off the top-seeded Avik Das in the semifinals, continued the good work and won the sub-junior boys title, beating Maharashtra’s Devdatta Fadanavis 4-1 in the the sub-junior boys final. “I kept on attacking, even when I was down.
