Punjab, Himachal sign transport agreement
Chandigarh: The Punjab and Himachal Pradesh governments on Friday entered into a reciprocal transport agreement to encourage long distance inter-state transport of passengers and goods between the two states.
The agreement was signed by D S Jaspal, principal secretary (Transport) of Punjab and Abhey Shukla, additional chief secretary of Himachal Pradesh here.
According to the agreement, buses belonging to Punjab Roadways PUNBUS, PRTC, Punjab private operators, would run 48,836 km in Himachal Pradesh against existing 40,626 km.
Similarly, buses of Himachal Pradesh would now run have 60,390.5 km against the existing 43,901 km in Punjab.- PTI
