Software engineers’ son kidnapped

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Rohit, a four-year-old boy, was kidnapped by three unidentified persons from his house here at Madhapur on Tuesday evening. No call for ransom was made by the kidnappers.

The boy was playing with two other children of the locality on the premises of his house around 4 p.m. when the abductors entered inside by jumping over the compound wall. They caught the boy and sped away in a black Toyota Qualis.

The other two children, who reportedly witnessed the kidnap, later informed the boy’s parents about the incident.

The boy’s parents are software engineers. Rohit’s father Ravindranath works for Cognizant, while his mother is an employee of Satyam Computers.

No ransom calls

Confusion prevailed over the motive behind the kidnap as the kidnappers did not make any calls for ransom. The Madhapur police are investigating if personal animosity with the boy’s parents led to his abduction.

Cyberabad Police Commissioner Prabhakar Reddy and other senior officials visited the boy’s house. Special teams were formed to track down the black Qualis in which the abductors took away the boy towards Miyapur side.
