D. Nagender is Greater Hyderabad DCC president

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary and former MLA Danam Nagender has been appointed president of the Greater Hyderabad District Congress Committee.

AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, in a communication to APCC chief K. Keshava Rao, on Wednesday said that party president Sonia Gandhi had approved of his appointment.

Mr. Nagender, along with Ministers Md. Ali Shabbir, C. Damodar Rajanarasimha, M.Mukesh, HUDA Chairman D. Sudhir Reddy and MLCs Gidugu Rudraraju and Bhupal Reddy called on Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy in the Secretariat and thanked him.

He expressed his gratitude to Ms. Gandhi and other AICC leaders for reposing faith in him. Another APCC leader, Gopisetty Niranjan, has been elevated as party general secretary in place of Mr. Nagender.
