Did suspect travel in autorickshaw?

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Within hours of the city police releasing a computer-generated portrait of the suspect in the twin blasts, an autorickshaw driver reportedly approached the police claiming that a person resembling the suspect had travelled in his three-wheeler.

The driver, whose name police did not want to disclose, maintained that a person looking like the suspect boarded his vehicle near Lumbini Park and travelled to Koti.

The police believe the suspect had planted the bomb at Lumbini Park and after he left the place, it exploded.

“Not just this autorickshaw driver, but some other people approached us claiming that they saw him.

But we’re yet to ascertain facts and confirm their claims,” an investigator observed.

Since the two explosions occurred within a gap of few minutes, the police believe there was a remote possibility of the suspect travelling from Lumbini Park to Koti in an autorickshaw.
