THE CHAMPIONS: Palimalar Enigineering College ‘B,’ winners of the volleyball title.
CHENNAI: Panimalar Engineering College ‘B’ emerged a surprise winner of the volleyball event on better point quotient in the Bertram memorial tournaments here on Monday. After semifinal league, Panimalar was locked with Sathyabama Deemed University with two victories and one loss each. In the last semifinal league match of the day, Sathyabama defeated NGM (Pollachi) 25-19, 25-22, 26-24 to tie with Panimalar. St. Joseph’s College of Engineering finished first in ball badminton on set average after a three-way tie between St. Joseph’s (Tiruchi) and 2006 champion, Loyola. Other results: Volleyball: Semifinal-league: Panimalar ‘B’ bt Sri Krishna Arts College (Cbe) 25-22, 20-25, 26-24, 18-25, 17-16.
