Vamshi, Ranout shine

HYDERABAD: A century by V. Vamshi Ram (115) and Rahul Ranout’s fine spell (seven for 26) were the highlights for St. Mary’s Centenary College in its 141-run win over Nruptunga Junior College in the HCA under-19 inter-college cricket tournament here.

The scores:

Inter-college: St. Mary’s Centenary 296 for five (V. Vamshi Ram 115, A. Ashish Reddy 46, Rahul Ranout 57) bt Nruptunga JC 155 (Dhanaji 83, Rahul Ranout seven for 26).

Loyola 91 (Parashar four for 20) lost to St. John’s Church JC 92 for one (A. Akash 49 not out).

Bhavan’s JC 129 (Abhilash 50) lost to St. Mary’s JC 133 for two (Srujan 50 not out).

Jubilee Hills JC 276 for nine (M. Pradeep 97, T. Abhinav 52, Ibrahim five for 59) bt Sultan-ul-Uloom 150 (Pradeep four for 30).

A-division (two-day): VST 139 (Wasi five for 36) drew with CCOB 102 (Habeeb Ahmed 47 not out, Shaikh Ilyas Zubaidi eight for 41).

A-division (one-day): Ekalavya 238 (Dhanaji Rao Shinde 115, Shekar 50, Mir Sami Ali five for 60) bt SN Group 162 (V. Nagaraj 52, K. Pavan 42, Ramanjaneya Raju five for42).

A-3 division (one-day): Gaganmahal Blues 161 (Majid five for 46) drew with Rushiraj 87 for three.

B-division league: Sportive 154 (Albert four for 43) bt Bharatiya 54 (Abhiman five for eight).

Lal Bahadur 177 for nine (T. Reddy 77 not out, Shekar four for 40) bt Dhruv XI 158 (Prasad 53, Neil five for 22).

C-division league: APAU 119 (Dinesh six for 30) drew with Universal 28 for five.

Cricket tournament

The Hyderabad Cricket Association’s under-17 inter-school/ college cricket tournament will commence from September 3 at different grounds.

Tennis tournaments

The Indus School all-India ranking championship series tennis tournament for boys and girls (under-12) and the State-ranking prize money tournament for boys and girls (under-10) will be held from September 8 to 14 at Indus World School (Sainikpuri) here.
