400 candidates attend job fair at Madras varsity

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: Mailerjobs Delivery Centre, a company involved in training job-seekers in soft skills, and Allsec Technologies, a business process outsourcing firm, organised a job fair at the University of Madras on Sunday.

About 400 candidates attended the fair, which was open for students with a class ten or twelve pass, diploma holders, undergraduates and postgraduates. Organisers said though the age limit for applicants was 32, several candidates in their late thirties and early forties turned up.

After a few rounds of group discussion and interviews, a total of 30 candidates were short-listed. The communication skill of the applicants was the key factor considered by the recruiters. Of the short-listed candidates, the company would choose those who fit the requirements of the job perfectly. Selected candidates would receive their appointment orders on Monday, a spokesperson said.
