CHENNAI: Andhra pulled off an exciting three-wicket win over Rajasthan with 1.5 overs to spare on the final day of the first round Buchi Babu all-India invitation tournament match at SRMC turf on Saturday. After both sides had posted 307 in their first innings, Rajasthan set its opponent a target of 184, to be chased down in a maximum of 45 overs. Rajesh Bishnoi top-scored for Rajasthan with a sensible 71 (90b, 4x6); Robin Bisht made 55. For Andhra, V.V. Balasaraswati Reddy was wrecker-in-chief, picking five wickets for 58. M. Andhra stumbled in its chase, but V. Sandeep held the innings together with 60, and Y. Gnaneshwar Rao steered the ship home with an unbeaten 32. Madhur Katri bowled courageously, and took six of the seven Andhra wickets to fall, but in the end, he was unable to prevent Andhra from taking eight points.
