Kovilpatti: Evergreat Hockey Club, Vadipatti stormed into the final of the Nethaji Hockey Sports Club Silver Jubilee State-level hockey tournament with a 3-0 victory overs Annamalai University at Kovilpatti on Saturday. Saravanan scored a brace and Chidambaram scored one goal. Evergreat Club will meet in the final AGO RC, Chennai, which prevailed over Jamal Mohamed College, Tiruchi 3-2 via tie-breaker, after the teams were locked goalless at the regulation time. Coimbatore beat Sulur by seven wickets in the in boys under-19 sub-regional inter-Kendriya Vidyalaya Cricket league at Karaikudi on Saturday. The scores: Under-19: Sulur 125 in 26.4 overs (Mohan three for 18) lost to Coimbatore 128 for three in 26 overs (Sreejith 48). Under-16: Ooty 156 for four in 20 overs bt Kalpakkam 28 in 8.1 overs; Kendriya Vidyalaya I, Pondicherry 97 for five in 20 overs (Aneesh 55 not out) lost to Karaikudi 98 for five in 17.4 overs.
