THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Andhra Pradesh edged out Kerala 3-2 to maintain its title hopes in the South Zone sub-junior hockey championship at the Central stadium here on Saturday. Tamil Nadu also kept its hopes alive with a 2-0 win over Karnataka. Goumathi (23rd) and Nithya (41st) scored the goals for the winner. In the Andha Pradesh-Kerala encounter, Madhavi (6th), Hemalatha (18th) and Jotsana (59th) sounded the boards for Andhra Pradesh while Maria Susan George (35th) struck a brace for the loser.
