Sports School (Kudige) in final

BANGALORE: Sports School (Kudige) and Army School (MEG) set up a title clash in the Dr. G.S. Randhawa Memorial inter-school hockey tournament here on Wednesday. Sports School beat Bangalore Military School 4-0 with Anil (15th), Karam (21st), Sadashivappa (27th) and Dhanraj (46th) scoring for the winner in the first semifinal.

In the second semifinal Army School (MEG) beat Army School (ASC) 4-3 via the tie-breaker after the teams were locked 1-1 in the regulation time.

Rahul (5th) scored for Army School (MEG) and Srikanth (25th) levelled the scores for Army School (ASC).

In the tie-breaker Rahul, Sujith, and Arun Kumar scored while Nagalinga and Muthanna’s pushes were saved by the ASC Goal-keeper Iyappa. Army School (MEG) owed it to its goalkeeper Keerthi who saved V Kumar, Cariappa and Raghuram’s penalty strokes while Chandan Aind and Chari scored for the loser.

Kensri tournaments

Kensri School will conduct an under-10 Futures tennis tournament and an under-16 basketball tournament at the school courts at Mariyannapalaya.

Chosen in Indian squad

Six youngsters from Karnataka — Rohan Ramnath, B.J. Vikram, S. Aditya, Rakshith Gowda, Shipra Shetty and Nityashree — have been included in the Indian squad for the World Track and Road Speed Skating Championships to be held in Colombia from August 17.
