CHENNAI: St. John’s ES & JC (Besant Nagar) defeated Santhome by virtue of its first innings lead in the two-day G. Rajakumar memorial State-level under-14 cricket tournament here recently. The scores (final): Santhome HSS 113 in 84.2 overs (C. Asuthosh six for 41, N. Prasanna 27) drew with St. John’s ES & JC (Besant Nagar) 117 for six in 41.4 overs (S.R. Vibhu 66 not out, Shikkar Hukku 26). Special awards: Best bowler: C. Asuthosh (St. John’s); best batsman: Jayachandran (Santhome); best fielder: Selva (Santhome); best all-rounder: S.R. Vibhu (St. John’s); promising player: L. Karthik (Sivaswamy Kalalaya); man of the series: C. Asuthosh (St. John’s).
