VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Ranji player and former India International Y. Venugopala Rao is planning represent Maharashtra in the forthcoming 2007-2008 Ranji season, according to Andhra Cricket Association sources here on Monday. Venugopala has approached ACA requesting it to issue a no objection certificate so as to enable him to play for Maharashtra as a professional. ACA Ranji itinerary
Andhra will take on Uttar Pradesh in the Elite Group B Ranji Trophy at Visakhapatnam from November 15 to 18 and will play Baroda at Anantapur from December 17 to 20 in its two home matches, according a release from Andhra Cricket Association here on Monday. ACA Ranji itinerary: Andhra vs. Punjab (Mohali) November 3 to 6, Andhra vs. UP (Vizag) November 15 to 18, Andhra vs. Orissa (Cuttack) November 23 to 26, Andhra vs. Hyderabad (Hyderabad) December 9 to 12, Andhra vs. Baroda (Anantapur) D ecember 17 to 20, Andhra vs. Bengal (Kolkata) December 25 to 28. CZ Ranji trials
The trials to select ACA Central Zone Ranji probables for men will be held on August 18 at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium. A three-day selection match for S. Mastan Rao Trophy will follow the trials from August 19 to 21.
