Big win for ASC

BANGALORE: Army School (ASC) swamped St Germain’s 7-0 in the Dr. G.S Randhawa memorial inter-school hockey tournament here on Sunday.

The second phase of the tournament sponsored by the Rotary Club had an uncertain start as St. Joseph’s Indian High School which qualified for the second phase pulled out citing the issue of overage of the players in the teams seeded directly into the second phase.

Balasubramaniam (5th, 30th & 42nd), supported by Chandan Aind (13th), Cariappa (18th &38th) and Pawan (37th) were the scorers.

In another match, Army School (MEG) beat St. John’s 11-0, Madan (4th,8th & 45th) and Vijay (6th,10th &19th) scored a treble each while Rahul (13th), Nagalinga (18th), Avinash ( 28th), Muthanna (30th) and Arun Kumar (31st) scored one goal each.

In a third fixture, Sports School (Kudige) defeated Vijaya Vidyalaya (Gulbarga) 3-0. Dhananjaya (17th), Guruprasad (21st & 49th) scored for the winner.
