CHENNAI: Integral Coach Factory (ICF) pulled off a stunning 69-59 win over reigning State champion Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) in the semifinals of the Mayor Radhakrishnan memorial BC State-level basketball tournament at the Corporation ground here on Friday. ICF will meet Indian Bank in the final. IB overcame BSNL 75-63 in the second semifinal. It was a sweet win for ICF against IOB, coming as it does after three years. Its last win over the champion outfit was way back in the 2004 State championship semifinals in Tiruchi. IOB began, as usual, in a whirlwind fashion taking an 18-14 lead in the first quarter and 33-30 in the second. ICF shot ahead for the first time in the third, and diligently maintained the lead till the final whistle. Southern Railway will clash with SRM Rising Star in the women’s summit clash. Grace Hannah and Shahin Ansari entered the girls’ under-18 singles final of the ABI-Showa tech TNTA KTC junior tennis tournament, at KTC, Kottivakkam, on Friday. Grace beat P.A. J.V.S. Rao memorial State-ranking and State-level inter-school table tennis tournament will be held at the Hall of TT, Nehru Stadium. The State-ranking event will be held on August 11 and 12 while the inter-school championship will be on August 13 and 14.
