Abhinav Mukund shines as India clinches series


Abhinav faced 134 balls and struck 14 boundaries

India won the first Test



Chennai: Left-handed opening batsman Abhinav Mukund, who had scored a double century in the first innings, followed it up with a swashbuckling knock of 108 as the final match of the two-Test under-19 cricket series against Sri Lanka ended in a draw in Kandy.

Abhinav faced 134 balls and struck 14 boundaries in his century knock.

The Indian boys clinched the series 1-0.

India, which took a first innings lead of 104, was 245 for six in the second innings when the contest ended. Sourabh Tiwary contributed 77.

India had won the first Test in Colombo by 182 runs.

The scores: India Under-19: 491 for three decl. & 245 for six (Saurabh Tiwary 77, Abhinav Mukund 108, S. Pathirana three for 59) drew with Sri Lanka U-19 387 (D. Chandimal 143, A. Priyantha 68 , A. Perera 34 , S. Pathirana 62 , Dha wal Kulkarni three for 93).
