BANGALORE: Eight year old Sushmitha Tiwari leapt to a distance of 3.06 metres in the girls’ under-8 long jump event for her second gold in the 8th KPMG Cadet Bangalore City inter-school athletics meet, here on Friday. Sushmitha had won the 200 metres in a new record time of 33.9 seconds on Thursday. Two new meet records were established, both coming in the girls under-14 section. K. Sanjana of Vidyashilp set a new mark in the 400 metres while Reshma broke the high jump record of Malavika Saranya. The results (winners): Boys: Under-8: Long jump: Ashwin Rajan (Vidyaniketan, 3.26m); 4x50m shuttle relay: Mother Mary (34.1s); Under-10: 80m: Joshua Gomes (Bethany, 8.8s); Under-12: 4 00m: Sajjad (Jain Vidyaniketan, 1:05.7s); Shot put: B. Shivamani (22nd, 33rd & 50th) notched up a treble and Richard Raj (6th), Velu (27th) and Kaali scored one goal each in the final tally. Earlier, Madras Engineering Group (boys) and Synergy Sports Club played out a goalless draw.
