Rajesh’s knock goes in vain

Bangalore: K.J. Rakesh’s 107 went in vain as TNCA XI defeated Kerala CA by 60 runs in the KSCA all-India invitation tournament quarterfinals at the RSI ground here on Thursday. Chasing TNCA XI’s 316, Kerala CA mustered 256 in 85.2 overs with only Rakesh (107, 178b, 16x4, 1x6) offering some resistance on the second and final day.

In the other quarterfinal matches, Devaraj Patil’s 139 (155b, 20x4, 2x6) and Sudhindra Shinde’s 122 (173b, 13x4) guided KSCA President’s XI to a five-wicket victory over KSCA Colts while chasing 415.

Meanwhile Hyderabad CA’s 483 proved too stiff a target and Chemplast folded up for 270 in 61.2 overs with Ajay Kudua (82 not out) running out of partners.
