Rupee rules steady

MUMBAI: The rupee closed unchanged at 40.52/53 against the U.S. dollar after surrendering initial gains, taking a cue from the equity markets which ended in the red.

In a fairly volatile trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened strong at 40.43/44 against the previous close of 40.52/53. — PTI
