FIDE-rating chess from today

Chennai: International Master G.B. Prakash of Indian Bank and Sri Lankan champion

M.K.A. Russell are among the leading players who will be in action in the S.K. Narasihman FIDE-rating chess Open tournament that starts at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, here, on Tuesday.

Prakash needs 2500 ELO rating to complete his GM title.

Over 150 players are expected to play in this seven-day 11-round Swiss contest. This event runs from August 7-13. — Arvind Aaron
