Viswajit moves up

Easy for MCC HSS

Madras Christian College HSS defeated SBOA 4-0 in the Rev. Anderson State-level inter-school football tournament here on Monday. Mohan Kumar (2), Suraj and Ajay were the scorers.

In another match, St. Patrick’s blanked St. John’s IRS 6-0 with Venkatesan (2), Babu (2), Lindo and Rajesh finding the net.

Darshan triumphs

Darshan Veeraraghavan, with a gross of 293, won the MRC Cup 4 round golf tournament here on Sunday. Arjun Rao (Gross-305) was the runner-up.

Big win for Jawahar Vidyalaya

Jawahar Vidyalaya scored a thumping 136-run win over St. John’s IRS in the G. Rajakumar memorial state-level inter-school under-14 cricket tournament here on Monday.

The scores: Jawahar Vidyalaya 162 for five in 25 overs (N. Ashwin Ram 33, G. Vedavyas 26) bt St. John’s IRS 26 in 8.3 overs (B. Karthik three for 11, Mukund Muralidharan three for 2).

Bala Vidya Mandir 135 for three in 25 overs (T.A. Adishwar 45) lost to Sivaswamy Kalalaya 136 for nine in 24.4 overs (Vishruth three for 30).

Padma Adarsh wins

Padma Adarsh won the overall championship titles in the boys’ and girls’ categories in the Gill Memorial Sports Festival held at Rajarathinam Stadium on Sunday. Atul Anand, Executive Director, Tamil Nadu Watershed Development Agency (Chennai) gave away the prizes.
