Sharp rise in Essar Steel’s turnover and profit

CHENNAI: Essar Steel has achieved a sharp increase in its total income at Rs. 2,565.36 crore in the three months ended June 30, 2007 against Rs. 1,720.23 crore in the year-ago period. The profit before tax stood at Rs. 361.27 crore (Rs. 66.62 crore) and the profit after tax at Rs. 231.06 crore (Rs. 41.13 crore).
