‘Speed up justice delivery system’

Kolkata: The Chief Justice of India, Justice K.G. Balakrishnan, on Sunday asked judicial officers to do away with lengthy interim orders and discourage pointless arguments in order to speed up justice delivery system.

“The habit of writing lengthy orders should be done away with in case of interim orders or bail applications as this will save time and lessen the number of pending cases in lower courts,” Mr. Justice Balakrishnan said at a workshop on “Techniques and tools for Timely Justice” here. — PTI
