Letters to the Editor
The acquittal of Abdul Nasser Maudhany, founder of the People’s Democratic Party, in the 1998 Coimbatore serial bomb blasts case brings to an end his nine-year ordeal in jail. That Mr. Maudhany had to endure incarceration for so long without concrete evidence against him is unfortunate. Who will compensate the physical and mental agony he has been subjected to all these years?
J. Anantha Padmanabhan,
It is indeed sad that the BJP’s immediate thought is to appeal against Mr. Maudhany’s acquittal. With such bitterness and hatred against the minority community, does it deserve to be in national politics which calls for secularism of the highest order?
N.G.R. Prasad,
