Ganga Raju scalps five

VISAKHAPATNAM: Ganga Raju claimed five wickets and scored 37 runs in Vizag Colts’s five-wicket win over Luxury C.C. in the VDCA clubs league.

The scores: Luxury CC 157 in 40 overs (Ganga Raju five for 48) lost to Vizag Colts 161 for five in 33.3 overs.

Gajuwaka Greens 182 in 50 overs (P. Trinadh 53) bt Majestic C.C. 87 in 37.4 overs.

Handball tournament

Army Node ‘A’ won the Smt. Mangi Narasamma memorial all-India invitation handball tournament for the Wellfare Cup, beating Indian Navy 22-19 in the final late on Sunday evening. Signals finished third.

Ex-umpire dead

A former umpire of the ACA panel and sports administrator K.S.N. Murthy died here on Monday. A widower, he was 76. The ACA has mourned his death.
