Iraq coach quits

JAKARTA: Jorvan Vieira announced he was stepping down as Iraq coach after seeing his side win the Asian Cup on Sunday, saying he was returning home to Brazil and wanted to head for the beach. Vieira made the remarks to reporters on the pitch as the team celebrated an historic 1-0 victory over Saudi Arabia. “Absolutely (I am quitting),” he said. — AP
