Helping couples overcome those Ashadam blues

VIJAYAWADA: The recently married couples who have been made victims of the tradition-induced ‘Aashadha Maasam’ have a blinding ray of hope in an offer the Vijayawada division of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) is making.

Comprehending the barrage of emotions experienced by the newly-married couples while combating pangs of separation from their partners, the APTDC has held out its helping hand in a manner of saying ‘We’re with you’.

“Since tradition does not permit mothers-in-law and their daughters-in-law to live in the same house during this period, many modern couples who seldom follow rules are working overtime to find out ways of togetherness.

We have an offer of a 10 per cent discount for these couples for a stay in the cosy cottages amidst the lush green surroundings of Bhavani Island,” says APTDC Divisional Manager K.V. Venkateswara Rao.

Besides special discount, couples can have fun in the breakfast session on-board the APTDC cruise while gently moving on the placid waters of the Krishna the next morning.

“It is a complimentary breakfast for those staying overnight in the cottages. Bookings can be made at any of APTDC Central Reservation Offices across the State,” says Mr. Rao.

He says a trip to Bhavani Island can serve as a soothing balm for a care-ridden stressed out mind.

The APTDC package is full of fun and excitement and it guarantees an unforgettable experience, especially for couples seeking privacy.

Following a short boat ride from Punnami Berm Park, visitors confront an infectious charm of the island in its varied character. The natural beauty of the place lies in its ruggedness and sheer splendour.

“An overnight stay in the cottages can be relaxing and mood enhancing, helping one to get rid of the inactiveness of the sedentary city lifestyle. We have been adding attractive features in progression ever since the renovation of the island was taken up and public have aptly acknowledged our efforts by extending their patronage,” claims Mr. Rao.

In order to attract children, the APTDC has also introduced additional two play items each in the island and Berm Park.
