Double for Rohit, Sindhu

VIJAYAWADA: Hyderabad’s Rohit Yadav and P.V. Sindhu emerged winners in the State under-13 badminton championship, defeating R. Santosh and Manisha respectively in the singles finals at the Family Club at G. Mamidada, near Kakinada, on Sunday. According to information reaching here, Rohit outplayed Santosh 21-14, 21-18, while Sindhu defeated Manisha 21-10, 21-16.

In the doubles finals, the pair of Rohit and Santosh beat G. Upendra and Sai Ajit Reddy (Kurnool) 21-15, 21-8, while the duo of Sindhu and Mainsha defeated Sudha Kalyani (Krishna) and Jamuna Rani (Chittoor) 21-19, 21-16.

Boys: Singles: Rohit Yadav (Hyd) bt R. Santosh (Hyd) 21-4, 21-8; Doubles: Rohit/ Santosh bt G. Upendra/ Sai Ajit Reddy (Kur) 21-15, 21-8.

Girls: Singles: P.V. Sindhu (Hyd) bt Manisha (Hyd) 21-10, 21-7; Doubles: Sindhu/ Manisha (Hyd) bt Sudha Kalyani (Kri)/ Jamuna Rani (Chi) 21-19, 21-16.
