Woman dies as husband pours acid

CHENNAI: A young woman died on the way to the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital after she suffered burns when her husband allegedly poured acid on her on Friday.
Police said that Rajkumari of MGR Nagar was married to Mani of Sulaipallam last year.
Though the reason for such an extreme step taken by Mani was not known immediately, it is suspected that some domestic issues had snowballed into such an act. Police have registered a case and are on the look out for accused.
Found dead
A 19-year-old girl was found dead in a room in a private working women’s hostel in R.A Puram on Friday. Police said that when all inmates left for work in the morning, she allegedly locked the room and committed suicide. The body was sent to the Government Royapettah Hospital for post-mortem.
