Staff Reporter
KADAPA: Officials should put in concerted efforts to ensure that Kadapa district retained its numero uno position in implementation of Andhra Pradesh Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Rajiv Yuva Shakti and SC Corporation schemes, District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu said on Thursday.
Concentrate on the Government’s priorities and expedite works, he told special officers, Tahsildars and MPDOs in a review meeting in ZP meeting hall. He directed officials to tour mandals on every Friday and monitor progress of schemes.
‘Rectify lapses’
Certain lapses are bound to occur in 81,000 houses being built but they should be rectified, Mr. Krishna Babu said. He directed weekly payments to Indiramma housing beneficiaries. 31,000 houses were completed out of 81,000 houses sanctioned. Of them, 23,000 houses were still in foundation stage. Vemula mandal topped by completing 967 houses out of 1,014 sanctioned , the Collector said. Construction of Indiramma second phase houses should commence in August. SC Corporation would extend loans of Rs. 4.60 lakh per unit to each group of five persons for starting cement brick industries, the Collector said. Twenty such units would be sanctioned loans.
