Tihar inmates injured

NEW DELHI: Three inmates of the high-security Tihar Central Jail here were injured in a scuffle inside the jail van while they were being taken to the Rohini courts here . They were discharged from hospital after treatment.

According to the police, it all happened around 7-30 a.m. when the under-trials were being taken to the court for a routine appearance. The jail van was passing by Rajouri Garden when a scuffle broke out among three inmates, identified as Ravi, Shamsuddin and Sanjay. They attacked each other with sharp weapons, injuring each other on the face and other parts of the body.

The injured inmates were taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital from where they were discharged after first-aid, following which they were produced in the court.

The Rajouri Garden police have registered a case against the three and would soon seek permission from the court concerned to arrest them.
