Centre plans to revive ailing RRBs

NEW DELHI: The Central Government has drawn up plans to revive 29 ailing regional rural banks (RRBs) through recapitalisation at a cost of about Rs. 1,850 crore by March 31, 2010, provided the State governments chip in with their share of funds in the nursing exercise, .

Finance Minister P. Chidambaram said here on Monday after his first meeting with the chairmen of RRBs.
