THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) working chairman Poonthura Siraj has welcomed the decision of the Special Court trying the Coimbatore bomb blast case to pronounce judgment on August 1. In a statement here on Friday, Mr. Siraj termed the decision ‘a matter of great relief’ and pointed out that PDP leader Abdul Nasir Maudany had been incarcerated for almost 10 years. Mr. Maudany, he alleged, was denied his rights and not given proper medical care, despite being seriously ill. Mr. Siraj said a meeting of the PDP leadership would be held at Ernakulam on Sunday. — Special Correspondent
