KOCHI: The Amrita Community Health Training Centre, Njarakkal, was inaugurated on Saturday by the Fisheries Minister S. Sarma. The training centre, which falls under the Community Medicine Department of Amrita Medical College, will give preference to treating pregnant women. The Centre is aimed at training people in public health, since changes in lifestyle and ensuring cleanliness of surroundings go a long way in preventing diseases. It has facilities to accommodate teachers, house surgeons and students. Doctors from different departments of Amrita Hospital will conduct weekly clinics at the Njarakkal centre.
