SCHEME: Local Administration Minister M.K. Stalin inspecting a drainage work in Dindigul on Sunday.
DINDIGUL: All development works being taken up in rural areas should be completed within the stipulated time and quality ensured in all the projects, said M.K. Stalin, Minister for Local Administration. He was inspecting various development works and inaugurating new buildings constructed under the Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam here on Sunday. Completion of works in time would help people enjoy the benefits, he said. Collector R. Vasuki who accompanied the Minister briefed the cost of each ongoing project and duration of completion. The Minister, after taking part in a party function in the morning, inspected an open drainage canal work at RM Colony and a slaughterhouse. He asked Municipal Commissioner S. Meyyazhagan about the underground drainage project and interacted with Public Works Department officials. Later, he spoke to the locals after inspecting a rural tank at Paraipatti, inaugurated a library constructed at a cost of Rs.3 lakh at Paraiyur, checked the quality of cement road at Mullipadi and a rural road connecting Bojarajanpatti and Kalathupatti at a cost of Rs.9.50 lakh near Vadamadurai. Revenue Minister I. Periasamy and Minister for HR&CE K.R. Periakaruppan accompanied him. Officials and local people at Vadamadurai town panchayat were upset, as the Minister, who visited the town, did not inaugurate a slaughterhouse.
